ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nonoy Tan was born in the Philippines. He started taking underwater photographs in 2001.  Since then, his images have been have won over 15 international awards during the period 2003-2006.  He is also involved in the training of professional dive guides that provide spotting services for underwater photographers. 

His underwater photographs have been widely published and exhibited by various organizations, including the Royal Photographic Society (UK) and the Smithsonian Institution Museum of Natural History (US). He is currently the Philippine correspondent for X-ray magazine (Global Edition). 

When not underwater, he works as a microfinance specialist in Asia and Africa.
